Celtic beat St Mirren 3-2 in a sun drenched Celtic Park this afternoon as Philippe Clement reduced the gap from seven to eights points.

Goals from Matt O’Riley, Kyogo and Luis Palma set Celtic up for next Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against theRangers who this afternoon celebrated another 3-3 victory.

It was Joe Hart’s last game at Celtic Park and the Celtic support certainly gave him a send-off he’ll never forget. One more game to go, Joe.

Joe Hart speaking to the Celtic supporters just before the trophy presentation thanked them for the way he’s been loved over these past three seasons.

“You guys are absolutely phenomenal. You’ve made me feel so special. Thank you so much for having me.”

Callum McGregor also speaking to the Celtic support, had this to say about Joe Hart:

“The guy has been unbelievable since he walked in the door,” the Celtic captain said.

“He’s been a real pillar of strength for the group, I’m buzzing we can give him the send off he deserves.”

Brendan Rodgers talking to the Celtic support had this to say:

“It was so professional, their application was a joy to see.

“I’m so happy for them. It means everything. I put myself under pressure by saying what I said at the start of the season, but that’s because I believed we could get the job done.

“The support has absolutely inspired us.”

Callum McGregor, speaking to Sky Sports reflected on the title win.

“It’s got the same feeling near enough every year. You never get tired of success. This is why you play football and there’s not a more satisfying feeling than lifting that trophy above your head.

“We had a spell where we were dominating, won every trophy. You lose one and it’s the worst feeling the world. You try and hold on to that feeling when you arrive at pre-season and set your objectives for the season. I always try and remember the ones I didn’t get.

“This is an amazing club but the demands are massive. The players feel that. Half way through the season it wasn’t going well, it was stop-start. I said to the players, ‘you don’t realise what’s ahead, if you’re successful they will adore you’.

“It’s one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen on trophy day.”

Celtic’s Matt O’Riley told Sky Sports: “It’s been a long season, it’s been a grind. St Mirren were really good today, made it tough for us.

“It’d be very difficult [to walk away from this]. The fans are so crazy and passionate. It’s a proper family.”

Liam Scales told Sky Sports: “Can’t put it into words, unbelievable. Unbelievable year. It’s been the best year of my life.”

Cameron Carter-Vickers said: “[Scales] has had a very good season, performed well. We’ve had our injury problems and he’s been the mainstay.”
